3 Things I learned After My Glow Up

Sometimes you really have to see the before picture in order to fully grasp how far you have come.

I was randomly scrolling through my phone and found an old workout shoot and compared it to my most recent shoot and I was thoroughly pleased! I knew that I was already down about 40lbs from my heaviest weight but for the most part I still felt the same. Afterall I still haven't reach my goal of being under 200lbs so in my eyes I didn't accomplish enough.

Now that I am fully owning my body and the journey I’ve been on I wanted to share three things that I’ve learned.

  1. Take a compliment - When I go out friends who haven’t seen me in a while always congratulate me on my weightloss and my response was always about how I have more work to do. Stop this! Take the compliment and go sis! Learn how to just say thank you (PERIODT) and move on, don’t take someone’s compliment as an opportunity to beat yourself down.

  2. Don’t become THAT person - You know what I’m talking about. Sally lost some weight and now she can’t shut up about her keto, vegan, gluten-free diet. Now that you have a new lifestyle you are excited to talk to others about it but do it without being annoying or coming off condescending. Share things about your journey without shaming your friends who haven’t made their lifestyle changes yet, remember you ere once in that place.

  3. The work continues - What got you here won't keep you here! If you plan on maintaining or continuing your glow-up then understand that each stage is going to require a different you. Be ready to put in more work than you ever had but always remember to enjoy yourself and celebrate your wins (with non food items of course)

If you have been following me for a while, I thank you for being with me on this journey! And let's continue to work. If you are looking to take your fitness seriously than join my 100 day accountability challenge on facebook. Learn more about the 100 day challenge here!
